Joyful Noise
Clap your hands
like rushing floods,
and fluttering trees—
march, stomp, tap, clatter,
shake, clink, rattle,
shatter, thump,
drum
Shout unto God
like brass trumpets
and crashing armies—
whoop, thunder, roar, bark,
blow, laugh, buzz,
rumble, purr,
hum
Sing for the Lord
like bell-toned harps,
and sweet-tongued birds—
sigh, swish, sweep, twitter,
tingle, saw, chatter,
chant, comfort,
croon
Rejoice in sound
and silence, with spirit
and with understanding also—
receive God’s new song
and celebrate salvation
